Three Sumner County football teams ready for post-season

A perennial contender, and two teams making their second straight trip to the post-season are representing Sumner County in two of the state's high school football playoff brackets. Action starts Tuesday night (Nov. 3) at 7 p.m., with only one team playing at home. It's time to take a look at what each of them has done this past regular season as they embark on their respective playoff journeies.

The last three weeks of regular season, well, are "the season", if you get right down to it. Doesn't matter now what ya did 5 weeks ago or even 2 - all that matters now is what you goin' do the next 2?

The IRONDUKES cruised through week 1 of district play, downing the Rockets of Rose Hill 44-20 @ Rose Hill before a noticeably small crowd. Wellington jumped out to a 22-00 lead somewhat quickly and maintained a comfortable margin throughout, moving to 4-3 overall, 1-0 in district play with 2 more games to go before post-season.
