When the (3-2) Altamont-Labette County Grizzlies jumped out to an early 12-0 lead over the (4-1) Wellington Crusaders Friday evening at Sellers Park, what seemed like impending doom for the home faithful, turned into a 27-20 lead at halftime by the Irondukes, and a display of tenacity and ultimatae DESIRE to win. The last three weeks of regular season, well, are "the season", if you get right down to it. Doesn't matter now what ya did 5 weeks ago or even 2 - all that matters now is what you goin' do the next 2?

The IRONDUKES cruised through week 1 of district play, downing the Rockets of Rose Hill 44-20 @ Rose Hill before a noticeably small crowd. Wellington jumped out to a 22-00 lead somewhat quickly and maintained a comfortable margin throughout, moving to 4-3 overall, 1-0 in district play with 2 more games to go before post-season.
