In the night cap in Augusta, Wellington would improve to 7-7 on the season with a four point win. Three Crusaders were in double-digit figures. A.J. Snipes had a monster game with 26 points.
It was a fast and furious first, the two teams appeared to be evenly matched. Neither one could get much of an edge on the other. The quarter ended with a Cade Phelps three from the corner as time expired to give WHS a 21-20 lead.
Four Lady-Crusaders would end up with double-digit points as they would improve to 14-0 on the season with a 17-point road win against Augusta on Feb. 5.
However it didn't look like the point margin would be that vast in the first half.
Shayland French wasted no time getting the Lady-Crusaders on the board with an opening possession jumper. Augusta would soon answer and the teams kept it close for much of the quarter.
