Varsity Basketball Teams Start Season with WINS!

The 2018-2019 Crusader and Lady Crusader Basketball seasons got underway Tuesday evening, on the road at Chaparral HS, for the first of 3 rounds of the Cheney Invitational Tournament. WHS will host Pratt at WHS on Thursday (2nd round) and then the teams move to Cheney HS for the Championship Finals on Saturday. Teams and times for Saturday TBD.

At Chaparral, both the Varsity Girls and Boys came away with WINS, as did the JV Girls. Here are the scores we have at this juncture - congrats to Coach Adams and Coach Newman for their opening season VARSITY WINS!!

Back at HOME on Tuesday, the WHS Wrestlers hosted Pratt, who are presently ranked #2 in the State in 4A WRESTLING...that fact and the fact that nearly half of WHS's weights were OPEN for the dual, didn't bode well for the outcome. In the end, Pratt won by a significant margin, 36 of their points coming off of WHS's open weights at 106, 113, 120, 160, 170, and 285.

Final Team Score:  Pratt 58 WHS 14.

The WMS WRESTLERS were in action Tuesday as well, at Circle. (Event held at Benton Elementary in Benton) - here are those results:

The 7/8 Knights split on the evening, defeating CIRCLE 75-21 but coming up short against PRAIRIE HILLS 24-72. On the season, the Knights stand at 4-1 in league and 7-3 overall.
