Wellington native Connor Vaughn (2012 WHS Graduate) is running in the Boston Marathon today on Patriot's Day!!

Vaughn played football and tennis in high school. He didn't like running and tried to avoid it when he could. After high school he attended K-State. He said to avoid the "freshman fifteen," he started running. The hills of Manhattan proved to be a great training ground. His marathon running began in 2014. Since then, he has run eight marathons in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Oklahoma. He ran a Boston qualifying time four times. As the world's oldest annual marathon and it's tough qualifying standards (with gaining entry becoming more difficult every year), the Boston marathon has become one of America's most prized race experiences.

Vaughn will be one of 30,000 runners in the 120th year of the event. He currently resides in Kansas City and is employed by Cerner Corporation as a consulting analyst. Connor is the son of Tim and Elizabeth Vaughn of Wellington.

Good Luck Connor!! Connor will be wearing RED BIB # 4235 according to the Boston Marathon website!!
